ABOUT

Sentomol Pest Management Solutions

Sentomol is an insect pest management company offering an extensive product line of insect trapping and monitoring systems which use pheromones and other insect attractants for the detection of over 200 different species. Included is a comprehensive range of traps for use in a wide variety of situations. The product portfolio is backed by personal and technical advice on the effective use and application of traps. Sentomol supplies consumers and businesses in the UK and from our South Wales base, we export our professional range of products to many international clients.

David Loughlin (right), the founder and director of Sentomol, has worked in the industry since 1984, with experience embracing many areas of pest management; horticulture, forestry, agriculture, animal health and the biological pest management industry. From 2012-2108 he was also Editor of International Pest Control magazine.

David founded Sentomol in 2011 to indulge his interest in delivering innovative and creative pest management solutions. While the business initially focused on agricultural and horticultural applications of pheromones and traps, David identified an opportunity to help manage biting flies in the equestrian sector,

and so in 2012, he established Horseflytrap.com.  Today the website is still an important source of information and products for those tortured by these seasonal pests.

In 2019 the business expanded to include the Pest Trader activity of Xenex Associates, run by Rob Fryatt.  This included the Exoroach and Border Control products and the Bird Barrier range.  Pest Trader products are now fully included within the Sentomol portfolio and can be found in the Professional Pest Management and Bird Management sections of this website.

In 2020 the business grew again with the addition of Historyonics, which was created by Bob Child in 1997. A specialised pest management company that supports the heritage sector, Historyonics continues to be a key supplier to many museums, collections and private households.

In 2025, Sentomol, trading as Historyonics, was awarded the Royal Warrant not only in recognition of services to the Royal Household but in promoting and building a business that is sensitive to its environmental impact.
